Activities
Special Events
We regularly plan extra special activities that include: musicals and dance performances from Wichita State University students, wine and cheese tasting parties, bunny hops, and afternoons spent with dogs brought in by the Human Society.
Games and Other Activities
Residents regularly play games such as bingo, cards, and dominos. And we often have wii bowling tournaments.
Our annual watermelon seed spitting contest is a community favorite, much to the embarrassment of family members. Our reigning champion resident proudly enjoys the title.
We have wine and cheese tasting parties, musical sing alongs around the grand piano, and much more.
Community Involvement
Our goal is to mix our community with the community around us. We constantly reach out to include the community in our activities and everyday events.
The on-campus hair salon boasts a robust clientele with residents and community members. The Bistro is open to the public and our meeting rooms are booked by residents and community members alike.
We strive to create intergenerational experiences for our residents as well. We plan activities with the day care that lies on the corner of our property. The children come in to do musical performances, plays, trick or treat, or just come spend time with the residents eating homemade cookies.
Outdoors
Enjoy the quiet scenery that surrounds the campus. We have four beautiful courtyards with scenic views and a walking path. Our beautiful pond is has a lighted water feature that is wonderful to enjoy in the evening hours.
Clubs and Groups
No reason to think that your favorite activities can’t continue. We are currently forming a Red Hat Club and have card clubs and crochet clubs already formed.
Religious Activities
Volunteer led Bible studies are scheduled twice a week. Each Sunday we have a Bible based Christian church service. We welcome use of our on-campus chapel.
Individual Activities
Enjoy the quiet scenery that surrounds the campus or a comfy chair near the fire place in our cozy living areas. Walk down to the large activities room and play the grand piano or sit quiet and read a book and enjoy the solitude.
